Thanksgiving in India

Images blurred to protect those involved from persecution

Our ministry leaders in India have a heart’s desire for bringing every person to Christ. They face fierce opposition and persecution as they go bring the light of the gospel of Christ into the darkest places in India. Harvest Reach is located in 4 different states in India. Uttar Pradesh, the largest state, has over 200 million unreached souls just in that 1 state!

India is a nation where being a Christian is against the law and if you convert to Christianity you will face criminal charges.  There is intense persecution there and it extends anywhere from prison, to being beaten or worse.

When Pastor Vic was talking to Pastor Mark about the holiday we celebrate here in America, Thanksgiving, he began to pray and ask God what would make HIM thankful on this day.  The answer Vic received was very clear – SOULS.  So Harvest Reach in India is evangelizing villages to reach those that do not know Christ

On November 24th of 2022, as we in America celebrated Thanksgiving, Pastor Vic along with other ministry leaders ranging across 4 different states baptized new believers. They baptized over 100 people on Thanksgiving day.  Keep in mind that it is illegal to convert to Christianity in India.  If someone is caught baptizing or being baptized it is a fast-track to jail for them. So conversion and baptism are not done lightly. Our churches there must choose their baptism locations carefully,  some even use 55-gallon plastic drums inside buildings to conceal their baptism events from police.  Yet, believers are committed to being baptized as a sign of their new relationship with Christ.

Their determination to go about our Father’s business should inspire us all to do the same.   Let’s all keep them in our prayers and GO!

Mat 28:19 - 20

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

Winning Souls for Christ

Harvest Reach will focus next on making discipleship materials accessible for those new believers so they can stand strong in Christ.
