Who We Are
Harvest Reach is a 501c3 missions organization made up of many tongues, tribes and nations. We are characterized by our obedience to preach the gospel and to make disciples in all nations.
What We Do
God’s heart beats for people — we are the tangible expression of God's love. Reaching others through preaching the gospel, impacting communities through church planting and discipleship.
What Makes Us Unique?
Harvest Reach thrusts its focus on developing the indigenous peoples of each area to raise up local leaders to empower their own people to make disciples.
Meet the Founders
Harvest Reach was founded in 1989 by Mark and Sherry Mears as Footsteps Ministries. They reached out to the hurting on the streets of Houston, Texas. God soon expanded their field of view to include a multitude of other nations.
Over the years God has worked through Mark to reach into Mexico to share the gospel and distribute food to the less fortunate. Share God’s word via outreach and crusades in Guatemala. Share Christ in Thailand and take bibles to the underground church in Vietnam.
How the Work Started in Africa
Mark made a trip to Zambia, Africa to speak at a conference after the country had been declared a Christian nation by its new president, Chluba. While he was their the Lord spoke to him concerning all that He wanted him to do in Africa. The following year, Mark and Sherry with their two sons moved to Zambia where they began training leadership and planting churches.
Although Mark had traveled abroad extensively Sherry had only been on an airplane once and to only one other state in the US. The Lord gave Mark and Sherry a great love for the people of Africa and they remained in Africa full-time for seven years. They currently make trips back to Africa regularly to assist in the on-going work there.
Establishing a Work in India
Our Work in India began in 2019 through local area believes spreading the word of God on the streets. Through this network of small house groups the believers have been discipled and evangelism continues.
